Individual Therapy
Working with you as an individual, we will go at your pace, with your comfort level, addressing issues that are of pressing concern to you. In the beginning, we will spend time assessing your needs, and exploring what brings you to therapy. This may include exploring family of origin and current family dynamics, work experiences, self image, love relationships and history of any mental health concerns or diagnoses. Building trust takes time. We will build a treatment plan together, and can experiment with different approaches to helping you achieve your goals. Treatment can be short term or last up to multiple years, depending on your needs. Online therapy requires a private space with a closed door, no distractions, and a good internet connection. |
Therapy for Teens
In teen therapy, I assess your child's developmental level, which sometimes doesn’t match their age! I use a combo of Play therapy, Expressive Arts therapy, and talk therapy with child Clients. Online therapy presents a new medium for these approaches, and children over the age of 10 usually do very well. I use my own toys, interactive games, card games, online games, as well as art and movement activities to create a fun environment for Clients. I will provide suggestions of items for use during therapy, and can send links of inexpensive places to get simple art supplies. Working with teens requires parental consent, and necessitates ongoing parental support in most situations. In the first session, I require a parent to be present, for consent, safety, and assessment purposes. I also require regular check-ins with parents, and will communicate clearly with you about what makes sense, depending on the teen’s needs. Online therapy requires that you provide your teen with a private space with a closed door, no other distractions, and a good internet connection. |
Walk & Talk Therapy
An alternative to being in an office or virtual space, I offer walk and talk therapy. Together we will discuss the differences of this form of therapy, and continually ensure that it feels safe for you. It can range from meeting in quiet places to sit and talk, or to walk together through a park or trail. Adding the elements of nature to therapy may help connect you to a deeper sense of belonging and support. This form of therapy is only available in the San Francisco Bay Area. Travel distances farther than 15 miles will require an extra charge. |
